There are a few fall book releases I cannot wait to get my hands on starting with the third and final book in the Mara Dyer series, The Retribution of Mara Dyer.
Mara Dyer wants to believe there’s more to the lies she’s been told.
She doesn’t stop to think about where her quest for the truth might lead.
She never had to imagine how far she would go for vengeance.
She will now.
Loyalties are betrayed, guilt and innocence tangle, and fate and chance collide in this shocking conclusion to Mara Dyer’s story.
Retribution has arrived.
I love this series. I am just waiting for her boyfriend to be found guilty in some way in the third book. He seems way too perfect! And love is never as perfect as it seems! The author has done a good job of having me keep my eye on Mara’s boyfriend. I want the ending to be amazing. I recommend it for everyone who loves to read mystery novels with a touch of romance. This title releases on November 14.
The Bone Clocks: A Novel by David Mitchell. (September 2nd)
Following a terrible fight with her mother over her boyfriend, fifteen-year-old Holly Sykes slams the door on her family and her old life. But Holly is no typical teenage runaway: A sensitive child once contacted by voices she knew only as “the radio people,” Holly is a lightning rod for psychic phenomena. Now, as she wanders deeper into the English countryside, visions and coincidences reorder her reality until they assume the aura of a nightmare brought to life.
Apparently, there are two covers available for this book. The first image is the cover that is being released next month. The second image is of a different cover and I’m not sure if I will be able to find it anywhere. I definitely prefer the second cover over the first one. I’m noticing that a lot of authors are writing about people who have lost their memories due to tragic accidents all of a sudden. I’m up for reading books like these because of the twists and turns. However, I hope they don’t eventually turn into the same stories with little differences.
The Young Elites by Marie Lu (October 7th)
I am tired of being used, hurt, and cast aside.
Adelina Amouteru is a survivor of the blood fever. A decade ago, the deadly illness swept through her nation. Most of the infected perished, while many of the children who survived were left with strange markings. Adelina’s black hair turned silver, her lashes went pale, and now she has only a jagged scar where her left eye once was. Her cruel father believes she is a malfetto, an abomination, ruining their family’s good name and standing in the way of their fortune. But some of the fever’s survivors are rumored to possess more than just scars—they are believed to have mysterious and powerful gifts, and though their identities remain secret, they have come to be called the Young Elites.
Teren Santoro works for the king. As Leader of the Inquisition Axis, it is his job to seek out the Young Elites, to destroy them before they destroy the nation. He believes the Young Elites to be dangerous and vengeful, but it’s Teren who may possess the darkest secret of all.
Enzo Valenciano is a member of the Dagger Society. This secret sect of Young Elites seeks out others like them before the Inquisition Axis can. But when the Daggers find Adelina, they discover someone with powers like they’ve never seen.
Adelina wants to believe Enzo is on her side, and that Teren is the true enemy. But the lives of these three will collide in unexpected ways, as each fights a very different and personal battle. But of one thing they are all certain: Adelina has abilities that shouldn’t belong in this world. A vengeful blackness in her heart. And a desire to destroy all who dare to cross her.
It is my turn to use. My turn to hurt.
Marie Lu is a new author and she has already become one of my favorites. Her Legend trilogy is amazing and I love her writing style. Her books are about people from very different backgrounds and how their lives come together under trying circumstances. I can’t wait to read this book. It may be a trilogy as well. I can’t wait!
